I don't think there is one perfect double stroller out there but we've had this one for about 8 months now and it's proved to work well for us. We live in central florida and go to theme parks often and felt a double would be essential. My older child is a small four year old and at about 38" he still fits well in this stroller, he walks most the time but he will almost always nap when we are on a day outing and it's nice to have a place for him to sit when he gets tired. My younger child is one year old, their combined weight in the stroller is 51 pounds, I definitely notice a difference in ease of pushing when my four year old is riding but that is expected. The only problems we have had with this stroller is the basket never seems to stay just right and I have to adjust it every so often but it is one of the largest baskets in a side by side double that I've seen and it still works for the most part. I contacted the company about it but the employee I spoke with was no help unfortunately. The other issue was with the wheels, since we take the front wheels off every time we put it in our two door hatch back, the wheel joins went dry after a couple months, the stroller turned HORRIBLY until I remembered the stoller specialist at Buy Buy Baby told me to use Silicon-based Oil, picked some up from the hardware store, sprayed it on and good as new if not better. So if you ever have an issue with the wheels, don't forget, Silicon-based Oil!! When properly oiled this stroller pushes extremely smoothly, even one handed which was one of the biggest selling points for me. It has a relatively small foot print, I can push it in tight spots other doubles might not fit, and it reclines almost flat. We purchased the Valco Baby cup holder and installed it near the handle since there are no cup holders and it works well, we may purchase a second for a child cup. Another wonderful feature is that it's washable, although I have yet to try this myself. Oh and the rain cover, living in Florida makes the zip on rain cover a wonderful feature! I get comments and questions about this stroller all the time, it just looks so sleek. Overall I would happily recommend this double stroller.

I had really been wanting a City Mini Double (referred to as CMD here) but I bought the Valco Twin Ion when I saw a clearance on a floor model with a price was just too good to pass up, and much cheaper than the CMD even. Having a jogging stroller already, it was obvious that this was not a stroller for long walks with the dog. It's definitely not an all terrain stroller. It's fine, but definitely not as comfy as a jogging stroller. But, if you want to walk to the local grocery store or the library, and be able to maneuver your kids inside these buildings, or say, you want to go to the flea market, then this is the stroller for you. This is basically what I'd call a shopping stroller. Great for malls, stores, etc.
Similarities to the City Mini Double: The stroller is compact and light. It maneuvers really well. It folds down nicely (for a twin stroller, that is), the wheels come off easily if you have to make it even smaller. The wheels are large enough, like the CMD. The back brake is nice and sturdy. It has a huge canopy. No cup holder either.
Better than the City Mini Double: It folds inwards, meaning, the seat fabric is protected from dirt, unlike the City Mini which folds outwards. We're messy and have a dog, so this was a nice feature. The underseat storage basket is BIG, and you can easily access it even with the seats in recline position, because the rim of the basket bends a little. It comes with belly bars already. The straps are child-safe (takes a trick to get them open). You can unlock the brake by stepping on it as well, without having to lift it with your foot like with many other strollers, and is rather difficult to do with sandals or flip flops! The handle adjusts in height for tall and short people. The back of the seats have extra storage pockets. Not just a big mesh pocket, but divided and organized pockets. You can stash diapers, pacifiers, small towels, you name it, and it is all out of sight.
Worse than the CMD: The handle is not padded, and gets uncomfortable after a while. The design of the handle is not that comfortable either for big or tall people as it forces you to hold the stroller with arms rather close together. I think this is the main big negative of this stroller, and it didn't become evident till after a 45 minute walk. Had I known this, I seriously would have considered not buying it. The other negative, the raincover for it doesn't go over the top of the stroller, but zips onto the front edge of the canopy. This is a nice design, except for the fact that the canopy itself is not waterproof! Well, at least that is what people tell me, as I haven't tested it in the rain. If you're not planning on walking in the rain, then this is not a big deal. The belly bar comes with it, but there are no snack trays available that fit this model. The fold mechanism is certainly clunkier than the CMD. The seats don't have the nice ventilation option of the CMD. Finally, the canopy is a single unit, not the double canopy of many twin strollers, but when the sun is shining, it's shining on both seats, so I don't see this as a big deal either.
So... bottom line, if you have to get a stroller full price, the City Mini Double is probably a better choice (due to price $460 with belly bar versus $585 for the Valco, and the weird handle of the Valco), but if you could get the Valco for less than the City Mini, then it's definitely worth the money.

I've had the Ion for a few months now and I LOVE it! I always imagined it being a huge pain to go out with two babies. However, with the Ion I actually look forward to going out with my two little boys. It's easy to maneuver, quite narrow (fits very easily through doors, aisles...) and my boys are very comfortable in it. The storage space is great, the rain cover is so easy with just a zipper, and the hood is amazing - it completely protects the kids from the sun. And of course it's very trendy looking... everyone always wants to know more abt it. The customer service at Valco is also great. The sales reps are extremely helpful and they know what they're talking abt. I definitely recommend this to anyone who's looking for a double.
