after searching and searching for a rocker-glider-recliner and deliberating over glider and glider/recliners that are priced above $1,000 , my husband and i decided to try the oeko cassidy glider with ottoman (ours came with a lovely side table as well). it was delivered right on time in one large box with appropriate and minimal packaging. it took about an hour to assemble the set without much difficulty.
the chair is unbelievably comfortable and the entire set is more handsome than the photo reflects. we have a small, modern home and this glider with its smaller proportions and clean detail fits just right.
the ottoman glides as well so when you are in motion, your feet move evenly with the rest of your body. perpetuating gliding is nearly effortless and the chair is silent.
i'm 5'-3" and 160 (and due in 2 weeks) and my husband is 5'-10 and 210 and we both really enjoy gliding in the chair. the arm rest height is just right for nursing as well. i sat in the chair with the nursing pillow last night and there is enough space to tuck in one end of the pillow (not both, at least not with my pregnant belly right now).
i will agree with previous posts about the back rest being a bit low, but it doesn't bother me or my husband much. since i am shorter, i can still put my head back and have support without over extending. when completely seated in the glider, i can just barely touch the floor with my toes. having the ottoman is a must and a perk that it glides too.
the fabric is a tan microsuede with a diagonal rib pattern. it is soft and smooth without a plushness that leaves a lot of prints. the cushioning is also fine, i cannot feel the support of the chair through it, except for a little at the arms because of the tight cushion wrap, but i don't mind this as i can easily push myself out of the chair without sinking into any over pillowy-nes.
it would have been great to have this glider with our first child although i wonder how well it would have held up over the last 3 1/2 years.
and after raising our first with a hand-me-down rocking chair with the most painful backrest spindles, we are happy to have found just the right chair at a great price that didn't break our bank. there's enough stuff to get for a second child!
i was not familiar with the Oeko brand and found that it is a new division of Regent Furniture. Oeko furniture claims to be 'eco-friendly' and i'm happy to say that there was minimal odor from the chair, and absolutely no headache-inducing fumes. now that the chair has been up for a week, there is no odor at all. nicely done!

The rocker comes mostly assembled which is nice. The rocker mechanism for both the chair and the ottoman comes pre-assembled. You just have to assemble the chair back, seat, and armrests. You also have to bolt the ottoman's top to the rocker assembly. Pretty simple. One thing about this rocker is that it does feel a little cramped. I actually like it. Its definitely a smaller rocker but I'm 5'9", 180 and fit fine in it. The color is a nice dark brown. It matches perfectly with our Espresso furniture by Baby Cache. Overall it was a good buy. I like that its not as bulky as some of the more expensive rocking chairs out there.

We received this glider today, it was a gift from my mother-in-law for our nursery. I picked out this particular manufacturer because of their eco-friendly standards in the materials used and manufacturing processes, and most importantly that they minimize/eliminate the use of formaldehyde and VOCs.
Overall we're very happy with this glider. The color is a beautiful dark finish that goes well with our other pieces, the cushions are very firm and the fabric is soft. It was easy to put together, and is very comfortable to sit in, there seems to be great support for my back!
The chair itself has a smaller footprint than many we looked at, but the size is fine for us. I'm seven months pregnant,and much more than 120 pounds, I had no issues. Daddy is 6'5" and over 200 pounds, he fit comfortably in the seat as well.
